A 4Warn Weather Alert has been declared for Thursday as a strong spring system moves into Southeast Michigan, bringing the potential for severe thunderstorms. Temperatures are expected to reach the upper 60s to 70 degrees, leading to a significant warmup that could fuel atmospheric energy. The greatest risk is currently south of M-59, and the risk increases south of I-94. During the afternoon and early evening, storms may develop as individual cells or small clusters, potentially leading to large hail and an isolated tornado. These storms could disrupt the commute home, after-work plans, and evening activities. After the storms move through, much colder air will return. The weekend will be cooler but quieter, with highs in the mid-50s and a mix of sun and clouds.
