Karni Metcalf, a 29-year-old woman from Grand Island, has been charged with three felony counts of intentional child abuse, one of driving under the influence, and three misdemeanor counts of transporting a child while intoxicated. The sheriff's office found Metcelf and her three children on the shoulder of Highway 2 near Cairo, with significant damage to the front driver’s side and the tires. The judge set her bond at $100,000 and ordered her not to have contact with her children.
