Not Trump’s call: Supreme Court must see that Temporary Protected Status is not up to White House whims

The Supreme Court is hearing arguments against the Trump administration's attempt to end Temporary Protected Status (TPS) protections for 350,000 Haitians and 6,000 Syrians. The program was created by Congress to protect nationals from countries that were deemed dangerous for return to. Despite these countries' current circumstances, the Supreme Court must decide based on the evidence and not on political preferences of the White House. The Supreme Court has been criticized by both previous administrations for attempting to terminate every existing TPS designation for review.
