Heavy rains have caused Hawaii's worst flooding in over 20 years, leaving more than 2,000 people without power due to flooding. The storm, which caused an estimated $1 billion in damages, lifted homes and cars, resulted in evaluation orders for 5,500 people north of Honolulu and over 200 people being rescued from rising waters. By Sunday afternoon, Hawaiian Electric had restored power to about 1,200 people in Waialua on the North Shore of Oahu, and expects to return another 2,300 more by the end of the day. The worst of the storms appear to be over, with less than 5 inches of rain expected for Hawaii Island and less than 1 to 2 inches expected for other areas.
