Elmhurst Warehouse Plan Draws Opposition

The proposal for a 32-dock warehouse in Elmhurst, Texas, has been met with opposition from residents who believe it will increase truck traffic and pose hazards for nearby schoolchildren. The developer, Alliance Industrial Co., has cited criminal activity at the Clarion Inn and at least eight crime-related incidents at the hotel in the past two years. No tenants have been identified. The proposal also includes maintaining current uses along Riverside Drive, which the developer argues have minimal negative impacts.
