A Central Florida woman, Leslie Russell, decided to save the life of 4-H steer Charley the steer who was set to be slaughtered. Russell launched a GoFundMe campaign and paid for him to be safe while donations continued. Charley was transported to Bell Family Farm, where he arrived with help from the Florida Farm School for free. Instead of slaughter, Charley is beginning a new life as a potential "cow cuddler" and farm ambassador. Despite challenges, the farm is still recovering from Hurricane Milton and plans to meet Charley and other animals as it grows and recovers. Donations are still being accepted to help cover the rescue and support the farm that gave him a home.
