A Philadelphia family had two dogs stolen from their backyard in 2015, one of which was found, but the other, named Forty-Cal, never returned home. The family searched for days and months for several years before moving to Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, where they kept his lost pet report active and his microchip information updated. The animal was returned to them via a local animal shelter, which scanned his current microchip and contacted the family. The owners hope this will encourage people to keep their pets' microchip updated.
