A seven-passenger regional jet from the Western Australian city of Broome crashed into crocodile-infested saltwater off the coast of the city on March 19. The Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ASP) has opened an investigation into the accident, stating that the plane experienced a loss of engine power and that it was carrying two pilots and five passengers. No major injuries were reported, although the man with the head injury was caused by a sudden landing. The crash occurred near Fisherman Bend, a beach that is full of crocodiles, but no one posed a threat to passengers before they were pulled out.
