Olivia Moultrie, a 20-year-old midfielder for the Portland Thorns, has been hailed as the NWSL MVP this season. Her career began when she was just 11 years old and committed to the University of North Carolina on a full-ride scholarship. She signed a Nike endorsement two years later and moved to Portland to train with the Thorns. Her lawsuit against the NWS at age 15 paved the way for her to become the youngest player in the league and inspire younger players to follow in her footsteps. Now less than two months shy of her 21st birthday, Moultry is considered one of the best players in the NWSl and is set to play on the U.S. national team ahead of the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup.
