Severe storms left a trail of damage across parts of Miami County, including Osawatomie, where buildings and homes were hit by strong winds and hail. A state of emergency is now in place for Osawomie and Paola, and the Miami County Sheriff's Office has made a verbal declaration in response to the widespread hail damage. The area's high school has been evacuated for cleaning purposes. Severe storms also left significant damage to buildings downtown.
