Taylor Frankie Paul, the lead star of The Bachelorette, has spoken about her decision to join the show and her reaction to reports of her involvement in a domestic assault investigation. Paul, who is also the lead in season 22 of the dating reality series, stated that joining the show was an "immediate" yes for her and that she wanted to escape the "toxicity" of her life in Utah. The allegations come three years after Paul was arrested for suspicion of domestic violence following an argument with ex-boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen, leading to her to receive misdemeanor assault, criminal mischief and child abuse charges. If she complies with the plea to avoid an aggravated assault charge, she will be dismissed.
