Boston's Irish Film Festival (IAFFB) is returning this weekend after a hiatus following a nearly fatal setback in 2020. The festival's executive director, Dawn Morrissey, stated that the Irish Consulate in Boston has been a major supporter and this is their first attempt to have a larger festival. The opening of the festival will include the film "Baite," which was awarded an IFTA (Irish Film & Television Academy) for best original music and "Retirement Plan". The US premier of "Beat the Lotto" will be held at 5:00 PM on Saturday, followed by an in-person Q&A with director Ross Whitaker. The final screening will include "Christy", which recently won a 2026 Irish Film and Television Academy award for best feature film.
