Former Black Flag frontman Henry Rollins made some insightful comments during a 1994 episode of Sound fX. He referred to the resurgence of punk as “corporate punk” and stated that major corporate labels and punk bands are inherently opposed. He also mentioned that a significant part of the 90s punk revival was the return of old bands who were trying to make money. His thoughts about Green Day set them apart at the time. Despite this, Rollins acknowledged that there is still room for all types of bands at the table of punk rock.
