Jacksonville air quality hits unhealthy levels amid massive fires

The smoke from brush fires in Florida and Georgia is affecting air quality across Duval County and surrounding areas, particularly in the Jacksonville Metro into Georgia. The medical director of the emergency department at HCA Florida Memorial Hospital, Dr. Shilpa Amin, has advised that the smoke could affect breathing and inflame small particles that can cause asthma attacks. Jacksonville recorded unhealthy air quality levels on Wednesday and there are several precautions necessary for outdoor activities. The area with the worst air quality is located in the map.
