Macron names new French aircraft carrier 'Free France' in nod to resistance

French President Emmanuel Macron has named a new aircraft carrier named France ‘Libre (Free France), marking a significant step forward in the country's 10.2 billion euro ($12 billion) programme to replace its ageing nuclear-powered flagship Charles de Gaulle. The ship, which will be completed in 2036 and be operational in 2038, will be the largest in Europe and feature two nuclear reactors. It will also integrate the latest drone technology.
