North Carolina gospel singer Dennis Turner has paid tribute to Reverend Jesse Jackson, who he grew up with in his hometown of Tunica, Mississippi. Turner, who was introduced to Reverend Jackson as a mentor and a model over 40 years ago, recalls the day he witnessed him in 1985 when he was 12 years old. Turner credits his inspiration to Jackson for inspiring him and inspiring him to believe in the lives of underprivileged, under-served, equality. Turner formed the group that still performs to this day and has toured the world as a singer and motivational speaker.
