A critical fire weather conditions are expected across eastern New Mexico this week, with sustained winds of up to 30 mph predicted across the eastern plains. This will be exacerbated by a cold front moving into the state, which will bring high temperatures closer to the average for early March. Another storm system is expected to increase southwest winds across the state on Thursday, with gusts expected.
