Joseph Dexter Taylor, a 52-year-old California man, has been charged with murder following the discovery of burned human remains on his property. The remains, believed to be those of Chris Kidwell, were discovered on Taylor's property on March 21. Taylor is also facing a separate charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm in a separate case. The victim's identity is still pending. Following extensive investigation, detectives found evidence leading them to believe Taylor was responsible for the murder of Kidwell. He is currently being held without bail due to the charges and pending arson cases in Lake County.
