Val Kilmer, late actor who died in 1999, will be starring in an upcoming film by using artificial intelligence. The film, "As Deep as the Grave," was designed around Kilmer's character, Father Fintan, whose likeness and voice will feature prominently in the movie. The technology was used to add more footage of Kilmer to the production, which was limited due to the limited budget. Kilmer’s family also provided younger photos of the actor to help create the AI rendition. The work was approved by Kilmer himself and his estate was compensated per SAG guidelines.
