Marie Fellows, a teacher from the West Midlands in the UK, lost her 10-year-old daughter, Larissa, to leukemia while on vacation in the US in 2024. The trip was set to celebrate her 20th wedding anniversary with her husband, Dave, and was supposed to take place in Central Park in front of their sons, Zane and Jaxon, and their daughter, who had dreamed of being a bridesmaid for her parents. Larissa started feeling ill one day into the trip, with symptoms including aching legs and a headache. She was diagnosed with motion sickness and was later placed in an induced coma at Bellevue Hospital in New York. Her parents cancelled the ceremony and found out she had died of leukemia.
