The Hoboken School Board has introduced a $104.8M budget, with a potential $823 per year school tax increase for the owner of an average $532,000 home. The increase is due to increases in health insurance costs for staff and hiring to meet enrollment growth. The district also expects 211 more students in K-12 next year, which will require new hires. Despite the tax increase, the meeting attracted only two audience members. The funding for the budget is largely funded by taxes, state aid, federal aid, and small amounts from rents and other revenue.
