EU energy ministers seek to coordinate Iran war response

European gas prices have risen by over 70% since the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran began on February 28. The EU has invited ministers to discuss measures to address the tightening of the oil and gas markets in a coordinated manner. The focus should be on filling gas storage for next winter and stabilising oil product markets. The top two suppliers for European gas and oil supplies are Norway and the United States, not directly affected by strikes and shutdowns in the Middle East. The European Union is urging countries to start filling their natural gas storage early in the year to avoid further price spikes.
