As artificial intelligence becomes increasingly embedded in classrooms and workplaces, Gen Z is entering adulthood with tools like those used by previous generations. Nicole Fichera, an innovation strategist and speaker on South by Southwest’s It’�s a Whole Thing: Gen Z Work Relationships in the Age of AI, highlighted the effects of the COVID pandemic on Gen Z. She believes that if Gen Z can combine AI guidance with human mentorship for the stuff that doesn't live in AI, it could be a significant opportunity. However, Rebecca Winthrop, director at the Center for Universal Education at the Brookings Institution, warned of risks for students' development due to AI's tendency to over-accelerate learning. Some experts, like Emily Williams, called for equitable AI development and regulation to prevent authoritarianism and biased technology in marginalized communities.
