What Dawn Staley said about Florida women’s basketball hiring Tammi Reiss

Tammi Reiss, the new Florida women's basketball coach, and Dawn Staley, were teammates at the University of Virginia in 1989. Staley was a two-time Naismith Player of the Year and Reiss became a coaching legend at South Carolina. Reiss successfully turned around the Rhode Island program before being hired to lead the Gators. Stlay supported Reiss's hire, calling it a "full circle moment" but cautioned that Florida must financially support Reiss to build a winning team. Staying supportive, Staley said Reiss is built for the SEC due to her passion for the game and that she will be a good fit.
