Boys State Basketball: Chaska beats Lakeville South in 4A quarterfinals

Chaska High School's fifth-seeded team advanced to the semifinal round of the Minnesota State High School League’s 2026 Boys Basketball State Tournament with a 71-53 victory over No. 4 Lakeville South in the Class AAAA quarterfinal game in Minneapolis. The Hawks started the game on a 17-3 run and won for their 23rd consecutive win. Junior Tyler Forrest scored 15 points, while Chase Maetzold led with 19 points and 10 rebounds. The team's offensive improvement has them among the four teams left standing in Class AAA. The next game will face top-ranked Chaska against the unbeaten, unnamed Tartan at 6 p.m.
