A new investigation by the Campaign for Uyghurs, a Washington, DC-based nonprofit, has found that some Labubu dolls contain cotton banned in the US from Xinjiang, a region in China known for its forced-labor laws. The cotton was found in samples purchased from Amazon, eBay, Shein, AliExpress and Pop Mart, the Chinese retailer behind the dolls. This violation of the Uyghanur Forced Labor Prevention Act, which Congress passed in 2021 to ban any products made in Xinjiang. The allegations could test the Trump administration's relations with China, as the president is set to visit Beijing next month.
