Durbin and Raskin call for perjury investigation into DHS's Kristi Noem

The top Democrats on the House and Senate Judiciary committees are urging Attorney General Pam Bondi to investigate whether departing Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem lied under oath before Congress. They claim that Noem may have violated laws prohibiting perjury and making false statements to Congress during her testimony. The lawmakers also allege that she lied about the Department of Homeland Security's adherence to court orders regarding immigration. Nois was replaced by Sen. Markwayne Mullin, who will need to be confirmed by his Senate colleagues before taking over the department.
