Apple AirTag, MacBook ping lead to two arrests in San Mateo vehicle theft — police

A concealed Apple AirTag and a MacBook's tracking feature helped San Mateo police recover a stolen vehicle and arrest two suspects. The owner of the stolen vehicle reported it contained a hidden AirTag, which pinged in the area where it was found hidden under a car cover. The suspects were identified and the stolen laptop was found to be inside the vehicle. The second suspect was issued a misdemeanor citation for possession of stolen property in relation to an unrelated incident.
