Nike chopping over 1,000 jobs as struggling sneaker giant tries to rebound from sales slump

Nike is cutting about 1,400 global operations employees in an effort to streamline its operations and address a years-long sales slump. The job cuts will be mainly in North America and Europe, with the technology team being affected. The layoffs represent a little less than 2% of Nike's global workforce. The cuts will allow Nike to integrate its supply chains and focus its technology operations in two main hubs. The company has also announced plans to relocate some manufacturing operations for its struggling Converse brand to support its needs.
