Meera Varma, a prominent mental health activist who worked with celebrities such as Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and Oprah Winfrey, was attacked at her Burbank home early Monday morning. A suspect broke into their house and murdered her mother, Arti Varma. It is unclear how the suspect knew the pair or if the stabbing was random. Meera remains hospitalized and her mother was a second-grade teacher at an elementary school in the Burbank school district. The relationship between the victims and the suspect remains under investigation.
