The Indiana Task Force 1 was activated as a FEMA Type 3 search‑and-rescue team following a tornado that struck the community. The team, led by IFD Division Chief Tom Neal, includes 43 members from the public and other participating agencies. They are currently conducting search-and-evaluation operations in one of the hardest-hit areas. The extent of the damage will determine how long the deployment will continue.
