Elon Musk set for major SpaceX payday — if he settles 1 million people on Mars

SpaceX's board of directors has approved a pay package that would reward CEO Elon Musk if the company succeeds in establishing a human colony on Mars. The pay package would grant Musk 200 million super-voting restricted shares of stock as long as the colony is permanent, has at least one million residents, and SpaceX has reached a market valuation of $7.5 trillion. The incentives are not specific, so long as Musk remains CEO of SpaceX. The plan also includes an additional 60.4 million restricted shares tied to SpaceX's plan to launch data centers into orbit to support its AI ambitions.
