The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is preparing a proposal to eliminate the requirement for companies to report their earnings every quarter and instead share results twice a year. The proposal could be published as soon as next month and will be voted on by the SEC once it is published. The change would allow listed companies to publish results every six months instead of 90 days.
