Specialist ship needed for Orkney broadband cable repairs

A damaged subsea cable has left some Orkney islands without internet access for several days. The issue is with the cable running between Evie and Westray, affecting hundreds of people in areas such as Sanday and Stronsay. BT Group, the owner of the cable, is working with cable ship providers to get the repairs to the area as soon as possible. The exact cause of the issue is yet to be confirmed.
