The US-Iran ceasefire is nearing its expiration date, with US President Donald Trump expressing optimism about reopening the Strait of Hormuz. However, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has blocked the strait again, citing the continued US blockade of Iranian ports. The two sides remain far apart on the surrender and removal of Iran’s highly enriched uranium and the ongoing enrichment program. Despite reports of a second round of talks, the US has not publicly confirmed its plans as the ceasefire approaches its end on April 21. Despite this, Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has issued a rare statement stating that Iran's "valiant Navy stands ready to make the enemies taste new defeats".
