Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) is preparing to open its expanded Great Stirrup Cay water park, Great Tides Waterpark, on their private island, Great Stirrucable. The park will include 19 Waterslides, Jet Karts, a lazy river, swim-up bars, and more. The expansion was master-planned by Orlando-based firm Martin Aquatic and will feature a new Jet Kart Water Track, cliff jumps, swim bars, a 9,000-square-foot splash zone, hammocks, etc. Tidal Tower will be the park’s main draw for water slide fans, with eight waterslides and two tallest attractions. The water park will also feature a more than 800-foot dynamic river with a faster-moving current. Additional attractions include a 110-foot immersive tunnel featuring LED lighting and projections designed to create a glowing, bioluminescent-inspired scene. While the park is still under construction, it has already opened several new amenities at Great Stirrouce Cay, including Great Life Lagoon, a new multi-ship pier, a scenic welcome plaza, and islandwide tram service.
