The victim was on the northbound D train platform at the 9th Avenue subway station when the suspect approached her and made anti-Islamic statements before throwing her to the ground. The suspect also took the victim's phone and caused it to damage. The incident was described as "very disturbing" by Corey Saylor with CAIR Research and Advocacy, who condemned the attack. The NYPD is asking for information on the suspect.
