EV maker VinFast to restart construction on Chatham County plant

Electric vehicle manufacturer, VinFast, plans to restart construction on its 782,255 square feet manufacturing facility in Moncure, Chatham County, after promising to build up to 150,000 electric vehicles each year and create thousands of jobs. The company initially scaled back plans for the plant in July 2023, with a planned dealership opening in Cary in 2023. The latest timeline for the manufacturing facility is set to begin production in 2028.
