Elgin News Digest: Elgin releases summer movie, concert schedule; town hall meeting being held for new Larkin HS stadium name

Elgin has announced its free summer movie and concert series, Concerts in the Park, starting June 4 and August 13. The series will feature acts from various genres, including funk, Latin rock, a youth orchestra, Beatles-inspired polka and a silent disco. The concerts will rotate between the Wing Park bandshell and Lords Park pavilion. The city will also offer Movies in The Park, featuring children's activities followed by family-friendly movies in parks across Elgin. A town hall meeting is being held for community input on naming Larkin High School's new outdoor sports stadium, set to open in the fall. Four local students will attend Elgin Community College at no cost this fall as part of the 2026-27 Seigle Scholar program.
