They instead prefer Vice President JD Vance, who is seen as more sympathetic to ending the conflict. Despite this, some believe it could be difficult for Vance to enter into negotiations to secure an end to the conflict, and are hopeful about a meeting between the US and Iran later this week in Islamabad.
