SHORT TAKE US CFTC ships prediction markets rule proposal to Trump budget office

The US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has sent a rulemaking proposal for prediction markets to the President's Office of Management and Budget, starting the process of writing new rules for these controversial markets. The proposal is in "preview" stage of the rulemaking process. The CFTC is trying to establish its jurisdiction over these markets after controversial bets on the potential death of Iran's Supreme Supreme Lord, which have led to threats from U.S. lawmakers to outlaw.
