OpenAI has released a native version of its AI coding tool, Codex, for Windows, allowing Windows users to experiment with programming programs and services with AI agents. Unlike other platforms like Anthropic's Claude Code and Google's Antigravity, Codex allows users to code with multiple AI agents simultaneously. The tool was originally released as an open-source command-line tool last April, before being released as a macOS-native desktop app in early February. Codex can also be connected to remote GitHub repositories and worktrees that keep the work of your AI agents in a sandbox before being deployed to a live production environment.
