England pace bowler Mark Wood, one of the fastest bowlers to ever play for England, is hoping to return to bowling later in the summer as he recovers from a knee injury that cost him his Ashes series. Wood had surgery on his left knee in March 2025 and returned to play in the first Test against Australia in November, but only bowled 11 overs before being ruled out for the rest of the series. The 36-year-old, who has been plagued by injuries throughout his 38-Test career, had not played Test cricket for 15 months due to an elbow injury and a knee problem. Despite this latest injury, Wood remains committed to adding to his 146 caps across all formats.
