Louisiana authorities have charged a 17-year-old with murder in a mall shooting that killed a teenage girl and injured five others. The shooting occurred during an argument at the Mall of Louisiana in Baton Rouge. The victims were bystanders who were caught in the crossfire. Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry has pledged to crack down on gang violence, promising to use state, local, and federal resources to address the issue immediately. Landry also asked all levels of law enforcement to prepare for a targeted warrant sweep for anyone connected to the mall shooting and those who enable juvenile offenders to face consequences. Police Chief TJ Morse said the shooting seemed to be driven by "social media beefs and maybe gang-related stuff".
