Kevin Gavin, an accused serial killer who murdered three elderly women in his Brooklyn building, has pleaded guilty to the murders before a Bronx judge. The killings were all in the same Powell Ave. building between 2015 and 2021. In exchange for his guilty plea, the court agreed to give Gavin 30 years to life in prison. The victims were vulnerable neighbors who believed Gavin was there to help. Each case was found without signs of forced entry and with multiple murders committed by Gavin. He was identified as a suspect after he was spotted using the victim's debit card.
