The technology behind the Iran war, which began on February 28, 2026, has been highlighted by the assassination of Iran's former Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, who was killed in an airstrike on the first day of the conflict. To ensure the accurate location of the Iranian leader, Israel hacked into the Iranian traffic camera system several years ago and used data from human intelligence and intercepted communications to pinpoint his location. The mission was carried out by Israeli warplanes.
