The creators of the TV show, Strange New Worlds, hope Paramount will consider their pitch for Star Trek: Year One, a pitch that would pick up where the show ends. The show would cover the earliest days of Captain Kirk's command of the USS Enterprise. While there are currently no active Star Trek shows currently in production, the creators of Strange New World have pitched the project to Paramount. Despite the show wrapping filming its fourth and fifth seasons, post-production is still underway on the show. Henry Alonso Meyers, producer and co-showrunner, expressed optimism about Paramount's decision to keep the series' premise and sets intact, noting that their sets have not been destroyed yet.
