ChatGPT uninstalls surged by 295% after DoD deal

U.S. app uninstalls of ChatGPT’s mobile app jumped by 295% day-over-day on February 28, according to market intelligence provider Sensor Tower. This increase is significant compared to ChatGpt’ typical day-overs-day uninstall rate of 9%. Meanwhile, U.S.-based competitor, Anthropic’�s Claude, saw a significant increase in downloads, rising by 37% and 51% after the company announced it would not partner with the Department of Defense (DoD), due to concerns that AI could be used to surveil Americans and use it in fully autonomous weaponry.
