Virgin Galactic, founded by billionaire Richard Branson, is on track to resume commercial flights in 2026 as it begins ground testing for its new "Delta class" spaceplane. Ground testing is set to begin in April, with flight tests to follow. Ticket sales are expected to reopen with a price of $750,000 per seat. The company has not conducted a mission taking civilians to the edge of space in nearly two years. The update is good news for customers who have been waiting list since June 2024. Virgin Galactic's suborbital spaceflight program is also set to resume amid work to develop an upgraded vehicle designed to be reused for faster turnaround time between missions.
