San Diego FC defeated St. Louis City SC 2-0 in their inaugural home opener, with Anders Dreyer scoring the first goal in the third minute, off a pass from Marcus Ingvartsen and Onni Valakari assisting. The victory moves San Diego FC to 2.0-0 as it balances league play with its ongoing Concacaf Champions Cup campaign. St.Louis was without key player Marcel Hartel, who had been out for the birth of his child due to health issues. Despite this, SDFC led 1-0 with a 61.1% possession advantage and 10-4 shot advantage. The team's second career start was made by Duran Ferree, who also produced another clean sheet.
